Ebbert's Farm Market (740) 695-5619 - Ebbert Rd. (I-70 between Exits 218 & 220, off Rt. 40).  Family operation specializes in homegrown sweet corn, tomatoes, pumpkins, apples, cider and other fresh fruits and vegetables, novelty items and complete selection of Amish jams, jellies and butters.  Hours vary by season. The only full-time vegetable producers in Belmont County.  All vegetables are their own.  Fruit is locally grown.  Summer hrs. Mon-Fri 10-7, Sat 9-6, Sun 11-5. 

Great Western Schoolhouse  - National Rd. (I-70 Exit 213, west on Rt. 40) The "little red schoolhouse" was constructed in 1870 with bricks made of clay from the banks of a nearby farm pond.  The school was used continuously for primary and middle grades until 1952.  It contains old-fashioned desks with built-in ink wells, McGuffey Readers and a potbelly stove, along with many other items traced to days gone by.  While the building does not have "regular" open hours, anytime the flag is up, you are welcome to come in, or by appointment...call Belmont County Tourism 800-356-5082.  Admission.

Carnes Center - (740)695-2888. 45300 Roscoe Rd.  I-70 Exit 213 onto Rt. 40 head west.  Pass Ohio University Eastern campus.  On the left is Cty Rd. 84, turn south here.  Follow and crossover the interstate (toward left) to Roscoe Road and turn left. The Carnes Ctr. will be on the right side.  Available for wedding receptions, trade shows, reunions and more. With a 6000 sq. ft.atrium, the total building is 21,000 sq. ft. National Road Bikeway (740)695-0156   for more info.  I-70  Exit 216, travel south on Rt. 9 about 1/2 mile.  Turn right at the bottom of the hill ( just before the turn takes you uphill).  The parking lot at start of bike trail is here.  Travel the bike trail north.  This trail was a railroad line used by the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad, now asphalt.

Ohio University Eastern Campus- historic sites include the Shaeffer/Campbell Covered Bridge on university property and also the Great Western School, where grade school classes are sometimes held in the spring.  (Dysart Woods is also an OU property.)

Ohio Valley Plaza  - I-70 Exit 218  - WalMart, Sam's Club, Pier I Imports, Lowe's, Staples, Kroger, Heavenly Ham, and more.

Ohio Valley Mall (740)695-4526)  - I-70 Exit 218  Stores and specialty shops.  Numerous cinemas, restaurants and food chains located in and around the mall.  Open Mon.-Sat.10-9, Sun. 11-6.  Extended hours from Thanksgiving through Christmas.
