Built in 1813 the original section was made smaller in 1865 and the building remodeled again in 1900.  There remains five of the original benches made about 1813 with wooden pegs.  They are solid walnut.  The walls are three bricks thick.  The old door came from the VanPelt Mansion, the second stop on the Underground Railroad. 

An early Quaker, Josiah Fox, was buried on the grounds.  A plaque was made for his grave with the names of the ships which he designed written on the plaque.
